About Me

My name is Ekene Valentine Enuebuka and I am a hyperrealism charcoal and graphite artist. I was born in 1989, raised in Nigeria and London, UK and the first of two sons to Emeka and Alice Enuebuka. I don’t remember a lot about my childhood but I do remember loving cartoons (who didn’t) and always wanting to recreate them. This steadily grew into a love for drawing with pencils. I would often draw and cut out action figures littering my entire bedroom with lead created imaginations but like most childhood talents, I unfortunately lost the head for drawing sometime in my early teens. I picked up a pencil again in 2016 and I have not looked back since cultivating and developing a unique style and approach to realism art.
“I love faces, each face takes you on a different journey and regardless of ethnicity or age, it is all in the features. I get lost in them and could spend hours or a course of days studying a face to decide the right approach to presenting it on paper. I am not out to replicate or copy but create a visual image encapsulating not just expression but emotion and narrative.”
